Do you love the relaxing and uplifting effects of your yoga practice? What about doing downward dog alongside others who not only love yoga like you do but possess a deep compassion for the world?
Look no further than our Donation-based Yoga class, taking place August 18, 2018, in Santa Monica.
This is not your normal yoga event---this is yoga for a cause.
Women-led nonprofit Women Like Us Foundation is working to put an end to female genital mutilation, an illegal, horrific practice performed on girls ages 8 to 13 in Kenya, Africa.
Girls in the Maasai community of Kenya are tragically forced to have their genitals mutilated without medication nor sanitary conditions! Many times this barbaric act ends in death. With this knowledge and determination to help spread awareness on this topic, Women Like Us Foundation is set on making an impact. In partnership with Pastoralist Child Foundation, we are increasing awareness of the dangers of FGM through educational workshops. The results of these workshops have truly made an impact on the number of children that are being saved.
Co-hosted by Women Like Us Foundation and Pink Moon Yoga, you will have the opportunity to take your yoga practice to the next level by contributing to this cause while connecting with your body and other like-minded people.
We will begin the morning with a ten-minute program led by Women Like Us board member and Kenya Project leader Terry Kaiser, followed by yoga instruction.
Let's make a difference together! We are excited to see you there.
