Soweto Academy is a school tucked in Nairobi, Kenya’s Kibera slum, Africa’s largest. I have been blessed to come to know and love its children and teachers since I first met them in 2005. Through Athletes in Action, a ministry of Cru, my family and I, along with groups of coaches, families, and huge-hearted friends, have visited Soweto each year since then.

After several visits, we learned that many of the students qualify academically for college but are unable to attend due to lack of resources. My heart burns to keep on loving them by helping make their dreams a reality: this is the vision of Sound of Soweto.

Our mission is to provide annual funds for Soweto students to be able to attend a university to pursue the future they have dreamed about and change the cycle of poverty in their families and community.

Currently the annual goal is to raise $4,800 per year in order to help two students continue their education at the university for that academic calendar year.

First, and foremost, we appreciate your prayers. If you would like help these children realize their dreams by giving financially, you can do so by going to the Donate section at the top of the page.

All donations will go to the college fund for the Soweto students.
