Mission

Our mission is to provide the gift of photography to those who would not otherwise have access to having their picture taken. By documenting life's milestones, whether the birth of a new baby, school picture, family portrait or other important life events we hope to give the gift of remembering the moment for a lifetime.

The vision for the Picture Me Project Chapter has already made a huge impact on children in Africa, Asia, and Central America. To see the joy on the children's faces when they receive a picture of themselves - for many, it is their first one - has been awesome. There is no doubt in my mind that the pictures will be passed down through the families for generations.

I will never forget the experience of taking a photo of one man with his wife and two of his seven children. He was shy about looking at the camera to view the shot but was so proud of his family. When I caught up with him a few days later I was able to give him a copy of the photo. I wasn't sure what to do when he cried. It was really something. He assured me that he was very happy.

A simple stop by my parents' house will reveal dozens of pictures of myself, brother & sister growing up. My mother has pictures of us at every age all over the house; they represent cherished memories for her. In developing countries most individuals, especially kids, don't have access to something as simple as a mirror let alone a picture of themselves. The photo printer project is a great way to provide a child, an adult or a family with a picture of themselves. This picture often becomes a prized family possession. -
