Arrive in Nairobi, Kenya where you’ll stay at the Sarova Stanley Hotel.

This morning hear the evolution of women’s rights in Africa from a special guest speaker. Next, travel to the Masai Mara Game Reserve. The Masai Mara offers game viewing and is the best and largest in the world. You’ll have a chance to see lions, giraffes, zebras, elephants and other wildlife reside here. Arrive in the Mara, where you will spend the next three nights at the Sarova Mara. This is a beautiful tented camp location that provides all the amenities of a lodge. You can rest or go with other travelers to a local Masai Village to understand the culture and meet the Masai people.

Today you have the option of an early morning game drive. Return to the hotel for an early lunch and then an afternoon at the Olmalaika Home. This amazing home provides at risk girls with a safe place to grow up and thrive. The educational opportunities given to these girls is altering the future of their communities. Volunteer at this home for teen girls where the majority of them have been victims of FGM. (Female Genital Mutilation). Their beautiful faces and angelic singing will be a reminder to you that all children are entitled to a safe and loving life. Their founder, Kim DeWitt, will share her mission of turning these girls’ lives around and we’ll volunteer with the girls for the rest of the day. Today you’re off to the wild for a full day game drive. Enjoy a picnic lunch along the way as you continue your search for lions, giraffes or wandering elephants. In the evening, enjoy a traditional bush dinner featuring a Masai dance performance.

This morning head to Rusinga Island, your home for the next two nights. Rusinga Island Lodge offers a sense of peace and tranquility. The food and staff are wonderful and it’s one of our favorite places to stay. Situated on Lake Victoria, it is only steps away from the Noel School, our next stop in support of women and children in Kenya.

Today, visit the kids at the NA Noel School and take part in their day. This school is dedicated to providing care and education to the children of Rusinga Island. The school provides much needed care and a safe place for children to learn. Women Like Us Foundation has helped them with water, a latrine, funds for food and textbooks. This year it is our goal to develop a garden project and teach them how to build sustainability through growing their own food and eventual a micro business.

This day is full with continuation of the garden project, an art project for the children and interaction with the school in assessment of needs.
JUNE 18, 2017
Today is a travel day from Rusinga Island through the countryside and enjoy animal viewings along the way, arriving this afternoon in Lake Nakuru. A leisure evening and dinner and spend the night at the Sarova Lion Hill Lodge.

This morning you will have a truly special experience with a visit to the Victorious Teens Bridge International. Meet the women who are making a difference in the lives of teens, volunteer at the school, learn about their lives and those of the teens- learn how they are dedicated to staying in school. Their needs are many and they will welcome our visit. One of our projects with Victorious Teens is to provide sustainable hygiene kits for teen girls. These kits keep girls from missing school during their menstrual cycle. We will be giving these kits to the girls and instructing them on their use.
At the end of the day we will continue on to the Aberdare Country Club for dinner and an evening of rest. Along our route we’ll have the time to experience Aberdare National Park with an optional safari.

Today is a day of leisure and one more special stop at The Ark. This lodge overlooks a floodlit waterhole and salt lick which attracts a host of wildlife all night long. Get an up-close look at the wildlife from the four viewing decks that provide an unmatched opportunity for game viewing. The animals will come to you.

Today we travel back to Nairobi in preparation for our flight back home. It will be a leisurely day as we remember our trip and the impact we’ve made for women and girls in Kenya, not to mention the friendships. Next steps…planning what we can do in the future.
